This hot spring area is a quiet public health resort located along the Ohata River about 10 km upstream from the Tsugaru Channel.
Surrounded by the deep forest of cypress and beech, the fresh green and red colors of the trees paint the backgrounds of the valley in beautiful vivid colors as the season changes.
The name, Yagen, is said to derive from the shape of the opening, where the hot water gushes out, which looks like a yagen, a tool used to grind the ingredients for Chinese medicine.
This hot spring is said to have been discovered in 1615 by Jo Okura-sahyoe, who fled from the historically famous summer siege of Osaka after the Toyotomi side was defeated.
The clear, simple spring water gushes out from the source and helps people recover from exhaustion, gastrointestinal diseases, nervous breakdowns, gynecological conditions, skin diseases, rheumatism, and more. MAP

Taijima consists of two islands floating off the coast of Cape Ushino-kubi. The name literally means "sea bream island" because if you look at the islands from a distance, they look like two sea breams swimming by the water surface.
The islands are small with a circumference of about 400 m each. If you think of them as sea breams, the body part of each island is covered in green and the tail is of bare rock covered with pure white bird droppings.
On the island is a shrine where Benzaiten is enshrined, according to a legend. This is a story of tragic love about a young girl from the village who fell in love with Sakagami Tamuramaro. The island therefore is sometimes called Bentenyama. MAP
